Shetland is home to a number of incredible attractions, and Tingwall is the perfect base to explore these from.


Shetland is perfect place for nature and wildlife enthusiasts. The diverse landscapes of the islands are home to a range creatures and flora. The towering cliffs at Noss, Hermaness and Sumburgh play habitat to thousands of seabirds, creating an incredible spectacle, while the seas surrounding the Isles are home to orca whales, seals, and much much more.


There are many historical sites to see around Shetland. Particular highlights include Scalloway Castle, which was built over 400 years ago, and the Broch of Mousa, which is one of the best-preserved prehistoric buildings in Europe. In total, Shetland is home to around 6,000 archaelogical sites.

Arts & Culture

The Shetland Museum is a must visit on any trip to the Isles. Here you can view many interseting artefacts from Shetland's past, including stunning examples of boats modelled on early viking crafts. A short walk from the museum brings you to Mareel, Lerwick's recently-opened, state of the art cinema and music venue, where you can take in a film or some live music.


Tingwall is the perfect place to be situated for any keen golfer, with two of Shetland's main courses both within a five-minute drive of the area. These are The Shetland Golf Club and Asta Golf Club.
